The deadline to sign up has been extended to September 8. Share in the esprit de corps amongst military service members and veterans, and the fun and game of outdoor cooking.
The Oregon Military Museum is hosting an All Branches Cook OUT / Cook OFF on Saturday, September 16 in the Museum’s Historic Park. The challenge: create a meal inspired by time deployed or in field training, using ingredients commonly available and makeshift ingenuity and creativity. Bring your team (2-8 people) and a grill, smoker, propane stovetop, gas wok, or whatever you need for some outdoor cooking, along with your menu’s ingredients to serve up and share with Museum visitors and guests.
Active military and veteran groups are welcome and encouraged to put together a team to represent a branch of the US Armed Forces, a unit, group, or commonality across branches.
Memories are made over meals. What better way for the public to get to know your branch of service than through food. As a free public event for all ages, participating teams are encouraged to invite family and friends, along with fellow service members and communities.
To participate, complete the following form by August 31 (earlier the better!). If you have additional questions, contact [email protected].
