Explore a 1/8 replica of a pontoon bridge used to cross rivers during wartime. Try your hand using 1860’s tools and equipment union soldiers would have had on hand to move through and prepare for battle. Get a taste of what the soldiers would have eaten, their medicinal resources, and what else made up their day-to-day lives as soldiers on the move. Oregon’s Sons of Union Veteran Soldiers present a day of discovery for all ages with multiple interactive learning stations and period-precise drills and ceremony reenactments including horse maneuvers and the firing of cannons and muskets.
